Our Science
Going beyond a product offering with a complete nutrient range,
we plan on expanding into the nutrigenomic realm and further into developing
a community focused on integrating body, mind & spirit
Uncovering the science behind nutrition
We've always geeked out on nutrition, be it ancestral preparation or latest, cutting edge research.
And we are putting out our geekiness to benefit anybody interested.
Through superior nutrition practices, our enthusiastic 3-pronged goal is to:
-
help optimise micronutrient imbalances
-
facilitate body homeostasis
-
enhance performance and longevity
Our approach is focused on:
-
avoiding anti-nutrients, such as lectins and phytic acid
-
keeping sugars to a bare minimum. We are focusing on low glycemic index foods that contain other key nutrients, like quercetin in apples or proanthocyanidins in pomegranates
-
designing function-based super food stacks that act synergistically
Please help yourselves to cover your nutritional needs as you go about your day.
And have dinner in a social setting after a full nutritious day!
How we are different
We essentially aim to provide the particular nutritional environment in which each genetic make-up can thrive by:

-
Stack design: based on latest science-backed knowledge out there. And very soon based on each individual’s unique, expressed genetic make-up
-
Sourcing: best ingredients from farmers markets
-
Food prepping: from soaking in water with vinegar to minimise pesticides/herbicides exposure to ancestral methods to pre-soak legumes & gluten-free cereals to minimise anti-nutrients to blenching spinach & beets for example to minimise oxalate exposure etc.
-
Adhering to science-backed healthy principles: no vegetable oils, low glycemic index foods, gluten-free etc.
-
Providing a micronutrient level break-down: which is essential to manage one’s micronutrient imbalances (so, so, so very important; much more than the # of grams of protein someone eats on a daily basis for example)
Here are a few things to keep in mind

The Micro and Macro Nutrients identified in our products represent minimum approximate values as some data for some breakdowns (for example types of mono and disaccharides within the sugar category were not available upon research).
As such, if you are geekier than us and care to do the math, you may notice that raw numbers don’t perfectly add up. But the margin error is in all cases within 1 gram, so we believe our data is pretty reliable nutrients for most super food powders are also not available upon research (for example guarana, acai, licorice, tribulus etc), so the nutrient profile provided represents a bare minimum of what our products actually contain; this is given by the fresh ingredients used and some more commonly known super food powders, such as cocoa.

Recommended daily allowances - RDAs - are by definition approximate and are based on assumptions about the average profile of a human being. On top of gender, age and weight differences among people for which we have collected interval RDA data, various other parameters, most notably individual metabolism and various nutrients bioavailability, are instrumental in determining particular nutrient requirements for a specific person. In reality, there is a biochemical individuality that varies for each and every one of us, so a more rigorous personalised nutritional plan can only be relevantly determined on a case by case basis. Nevertheless, the level of detail provided and the rigour employed to assemble the information should provide an indication of what foods and nutrients each should focus on, depending on personal lifestyle choices.
In order to simplify the information, we have provided an average RDA for each relevant nutrient, based on information from multiple reliable sources. In all cases, the RDA values provided represent required quantities for minimum health maintenance, as assessed by experts in the area.
